Shubham Aggarwal from Jalandhar joined the Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA) last year amid the pandemic. His father Sushil Aggarwal says that Shubham, who is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications (BCA), has found the teachers to be very helpful and cooperative. Aggarwal’s family business, BM Metal Works, deals in pipe fittings. In an interview, he shares what he thinks of ACFA, his son’s future plans, and more. Edited excerpts:

Was it you or Shubham who thought of ACFA to pursue graduation?

My son was a student of Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, and always wanted to pursue higher studies in an Apeejay institute. That’s how he chose ACFA. It has been about three months since Shubham started going to college after the start of offline classes.

Is your son happy with the faculty?

As per the feedback I got from my son, his faculty is very good. Not just are the teachers good at their job but they are also extremely cooperative. Before the college opened for students, teachers conducted online classes regularly. Shubham scored good marks in his first year. So far, there have been no challenges.

Have you ever personally visited the college?

I visited the college only during the admissions process. I interacted with the staff and the teachers and found them to be very helpful and courteous. The overall infrastructure is good.

Apeejay believes in honing extra-curricular abilities too. Is your son taking part in college activities?

Shubham is an active part of co-curricular events. Sometimes, they are taken on short educational trips. He is also the treasurer of ACFA’s Student Welfare Association (SWA) and is working hard. My son is happy with the experience.

What is Shubham planning to do after BCA?

Shubham has been contributing to our family business amid college assignments. He has been helping me throughout. After BCA, he will be joining our business.
