Bhargavi Guddati, pursuing BTech in Computer Science and Engineering at Apeejay Stya University (ASU), has made her mentors proud by bagging an internship as a trainee app developer. The young girl from Hyderabad is now receiving a take-home stipend of Rs 8000. She tells us more about her internship and her future plans in an interview:

Tell us more about your internship.

I am currently interning with a Kolkata-based startup called Doctor(s) Note Pvt Ltd, as a Junior Android App Developer. I came across this opportunity from my friends in Kolkata. There were two rounds of interviews for the same, after which I was selected. This is a remote three-month internship that I began during the summer break, in August.

What has the experience been like so far at the company? What does your work involve?

The experience has been very good; I am learning a lot. Here, I have to design and develop the interactive platform of mobile applications. We are a team of two working on the development of the startup’s Android app. In the process, I have learned about new technologies.

You moved to Gurugram from Hyderabad to join ASU. What made you opt for Apeejay?

It was the college curriculum. What also attracted me was ASU’s collaboration with Oracle India for certifications and cloud computing and artificial intelligence.

Tell us about your overall experience at ASU.

It has been enriching. Our professors guided us very well throughout the course and provided opportunities for hands-on learning. The college is preparing us to be industry ready. Apart from regular classes, I have also participated in various co-curricular activities; I have been part of the organising committee for the college’s Proxima club.

What do you plan to pursue after completing your college degree?

I would like to gain a year of work experience after which I would like to pursue my master’s degree in Data Science, which is booming now.

Your campus placements will start soon. How are you preparing for interviews?

While my mentors at ASU are offering guidance, I am also referring to websites that prep you through possible interview questions, mock interviews, and so on.

What are the companies that you are eyeing?

I would ideally love to work at the MAANG (Meta, Amazon, Apple, Netflix, Google) companies.
