Apeejay School of Management Director delivers guest lecture at Vietnam National University

Dr Alka Munjal, Director, Apeejay School of Management, was invited by Vietnam National University, Hanoi, to deliver a talk on the topic “Significance of International Finance and Currency Exchange Risk”. The online session was attended by about 40 students from the university.

The session of Dr Munjal was insightful and engaging. “It was a very nice experience. We had a sizeable number of students and faculty members who attended the lecture. To cope with the language barrier, we slowed down the pace of the talk. The students seemed to have understood it all because as soon as the session ended, they switched on their cameras and applauded, which was a wonderful gesture. Overall, it was a good exposure to the young minds of another country. Of course, if we were in face-to-face mode, the experience would have been richer,” she said.

Some of the key points discussed by Dr Munjal included components of international finance, the impact of currency exchange on international business, international trading and financial complexities, de-dollarisation and inflation, and international finance theories and examples. “The topic for the lecture was suggested by Vietnam National University. I specialise in finance and strategy. The students there were studying this subject and so they wanted to learn more about it from a guest lecturer,” she added.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the online lecture where they got to know the perspective of an expert from another country. Such initiatives blur geographical boundaries and help institutes come together and collaborate at a global level.
