Dr Pijush Dutta, Associate Professor and Programme Director, Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC), Dwarka, won the ‘Corporate Communications Achiever of the Year’ award at the virtually held Corp Comm Vision and Innovation Summit and Awards 2022. The event brought together multi-industry communications and PR professionals to discuss corporate communication strategies and innovations disrupting CommsTech (a new communication discipline that employs digital tools, techniques, and data to enable personalised engagement with stakeholders).

The jury members at the award ceremony were Arun Arora, Director-Strategy and Communications, Mavyn-Your Digital Trucking Partner, and Shalini Singh, Head, Corporate Communication & Sustainability, Holcim India.

The award was bestowed to honour Dr Dutta’s numerous contributions to the field of corporate communications. He has been involved in allied initiatives at AIMC including organisation networking, corporate connect, advertising, PR, and so on. He also mentored students for many social awareness campaigns in association with Unicef, and the government of Bihar, among others.

A professional with nearly 30 years of academic and industrial experience, Dr Dutta holds a PhD degree from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. He was pursuing his PhD when he lost his father in 2018. Despite the tragedy, he did not give up but rather renewed his work with fresh fervour and obtained his doctorate. In 2020, he was awarded the ‘Best Research Excellence Award 2020’ for his PhD thesis.

“This award aims to identify, acknowledge and felicitate corporate communication leader/leaders who are shaping the industry through their incredible work. The initiative also lauds organisations and corporates who are doing remarkable work by encouraging corporate communication and fostering gender  diversity and inclusion in their work culture. I am really happy to receive this award.”
