Passionate about art and creativity, Dr. Tikendra Kumar Sahu, Head of Department and Associate Professor with School of Design and Visual Arts (SDVA) at Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram actively participated in the India Art, Architecture & Design Biennale by featuring three of his artworks in the exhibition.

Dr. Sahu exhibited three of his artworks including “Keys to Imagination” that intricately explored individuality, as each key possesses unique characteristics. In search of their perfect match, these keys embrace selflessness, creating a harmonious synergy.  By orchestrating a natural order and pairing keys with their ideal counterparts, functionality exemplifies gratification and enlightenment through the art of connection.

Another one was titled “See The Things” that captured human emotions through embossed and watercolour expressions on paper. Portraying an out-of-body experience, it delved into dreams as illusions crafted by the mind to satisfy suppressed desires. Despite societal constraints, the mind orchestrates a drama, entertaining the psyche and subtly influencing physical existence without external harm.

The India Art, Design, and Architecture Biennale was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event stands as a significant cultural event fostering the exchange of ideas and artistic dialogue on a national level. The exhibition was put up at the historic Red Fort in New Delhi showcasing diverse artistic expressions. Further, the historic Red Fort provided a symbolic and inspiring backdrop for artists to present their creations and engage in meaningful conversations.

Expressing his thoughts, Dr Sahu said, “Participating in the India Biennale is not only a personal achievement but also a representation of Apeejay Stya University on a national stage. The exposure and experiences gained during this event will undoubtedly contribute positively to the academic and cultural endeavours of our institution.”

Dr. Sahu, who possesses proficiency  in disciplines such as printmaking, contemporary art, art education, painting, visual arts, and design thinking, further shared, “I express my sincere gratitude to Apeejay Stya University for favourably considering my participation and providing support. I highly appreciate your understanding of the cultural and professional significance associated with engaging in such a prestigious event. I am confident that this experience will not only enhance my personal and professional development but also contribute positively to the reputation of Apeejay Stya University.”
