Apeejay School, Kharghar, recently held the investiture ceremony for the academic session 2022-23 where it entrusted the mantle of responsibility to a newly appointed student cabinet. The ceremony was presided over by Balasaheb Kolekar, Deputy Collector of Palghar district, who was the chief guest, and school principal Tejaswini Katdare.

The event began with the chief guest and the principal inspecting the guard of honour before taking the salute of the marching contingent of four different houses or teams namely Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire, and Topaz along with school appointees. Putting up a spectacular display of unity, the four houses marched confidently, capturing the attention of one and all.

Following the customary lighting of the lamp, the school choir presented a soulful song. The school principal then went on to inspire the new prefectorial board through her words and also enlightened them about their duties. The new appointees swore to discharge their responsibilities with utmost sincerity and devotion in a moving oath-taking ceremony. At the end of the oath, they were conferred sashes and badges by the chief guest and the principal.

The school choir, once again, took the stage to sing the school anthem ‘Soaring High is my Nature’, arousing a feeling of pride and belongingness in the audience. The new Head Boy and Head Girl stood before the audience and read excerpts from “The Prefects’ Companion Booklet”. The chief guest addressed the gathering and congratulated the student council.

The ceremony ended with a vote of thanks by the Deputy Head Boy and finally, the national anthem.
