Apeejay Dwarka campus hosts grand annual fest ‘Synergy 2023’ 

The two-day event, oganised by Apeejay School of Management (ASM) and Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC), saw participation of more than 200 students from various colleges

Synergy isn’t just a fest, it’s a mega celebration with fun-filled activities and creativity at its best. Recently organised by the Apeejay School of Management (ASM) and Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC) at the Dwarka Campus, the annual inter-college management and cultural festival ‘Synergy 2023’ offered a plethora of competitions for the students to explore and showcase their talents.

The 16th edition of this fest began with the inaugural address by Dr. Alka Munjal, Director of ASM. She said, “In a management school, learning combines both theoretical and practical aspects. And for  holistic development of an individual, learning experiences that take place outside of the confines of the classroom walls have a range of benefits. Synergy offers that experience to all these budding professionals. Right from planning the event, to going for meetings with the sponsors, making all the arrangements, and finally executing it are all part of the major learning process. Synergy provides a grand platform for networking as well as learning the crucial lessons of life.”

Following this, Dr Alka Munjal and Prof. Sajal Mukherjee, Director, AIMC declared the festival open, in the presence of guests including Dr. Etinder Pal Singh, Deputy Director at ASM,  Prof Kamal Kishore, Dean at ASM, Dr. R P Hooda, Emeritus Professor,  Mr. Amit Verma – Director A2P Realtech Pvt Ltd, Mr. Sushen Bhaskar- A2P Realtech Pvt Ltd,  Mr. Ankush Verma – JustFitt Gym, Mr.Arjun – JustFitt Gym and Mr. Vansh Khurana of Takshni.

Synergy 2023 commenced with a flash mob performed by the students of ASM and AIMC. Increasing the adrenaline rush of all the participants while warming them up for the two-day extravaganza, a zumba session was held, which saw participation from all the students and faculty members.  

Further, the two days witnessed an enthusiastic participation from students of different colleges, whose energy was visible in the various activities they participated in such as volleyball, slow biking, arm wrestling, bulls and bears, ad mad show, tug of war, technowiz and other cultural events. 

This year, a unique competition called ‘The Best Manager’ was organised for all the UG and PG students. To judge this competition, ASM alumni including Shambhavi Vats, from 2012-14 batch, and  Siddhant Khera from 2015-17 batch were invited.

More than 200 participants from different institutions including Motilal Nehru College, NIET, Vivekanand College, LPU, ABES, FDU, Janaki Devi Memorial College, VIPS, IGNOU, Jaipuria Noida, Bharti College, MINC, DESU, Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Technology & Management,  Dr. B R Ambedkar University, Sri Guru Gobind Singh College,  Deen Dayal Upadhaya College, BCIHMCT, JIMS Kalkajee, IITM, Rajasthan College, Indian Maritime Institute, Hansraj College, TIPS, KHIET, School of Open Learning, SGT University, and IIT Delhi.

Sharing about her experience, Kajal, a final year MBA student said, “Synergy is a very special event for all the students and faculty members.The fest not only provides students with opportunities to showcase their talent, but also help them in developing their personality while adding to their overall learning experience. The student-driven approach also helps us explore each and every aspect of organising an event. All of these help in boosting the confidence of students. So, when ASM students leave the campus, they take along with them beautiful memories and so many life-lessons.”    

A first-year MBA student Unnati said, “I am so excited to be part of this fest. So many fun activities are being held like arm wrestling , volleyball. I will be participating in the tug of war and I am gearing up to beat my opponent.”

“I have participated in many activities like ad mad show, best manager, Mr and Ms Synergy, tug of war. For ad mad show and best manager competition, participants must be aware of all the brands and companies. And these competitions and preparation will help us in our MBA learning process,” added Sripriya, another first-year MBA student.  

Echoing similar thoughts like her batchmates, Jahnvi also mentions, “Synergy isn’t just a fun experience, but it’s a platform that will help us unleash our various talents and skills, which are crucial to face the challenges of the professional world.”  

The second day of the annual fest witnessed a grand fashion show themed ‘Powerdressing @  Workplace’ by the students and faculty members of ASM and AIMC. Shubham Dimri and Kashish Gambhir from ASM were honoured as Mr and Ms Synergy 2023. Similarly, Gowher Farooq and Lakshita Kandpal bagged this title from AIMC.
