An unforgettable scary night

As I turned around, I saw that there was nobody around me. But then I heard a strange sound, which made me wonder about its origin. I quickly went towards the nearest tree that I could see and hid behind it. My mind was filled with thoughts of ghosts as it was getting closer to midnight. I stayed hidden behind the big Banyan tree, eagerly waiting for any sign of movement. My senses were focused on the sound, which seemed like someone crying.

Carefully, without making any noise, I turned my head and looked towards the road. The sound grew louder, indicating that someone was coming. Suddenly, a young child who looked about five years old appeared. I figured that he must be the one who was crying. Determined to help him, I quickly went towards him and asked gently, “What’s your name, child?”

Between his sobs, he managed to tell me, “Rahul.” I was curious, so I asked him more questions, “Why are you crying, and where are your parents?” As soon as I mentioned his parents, he started crying even more. I tried to comfort him and assured him that everything would be okay. I decided to take him to the police station, thinking they could help us find his parents. I said, “I will take you to the police station, and they will assist us in finding your parents.”

Upon hearing this, a sudden change overcame him. He suddenly became quiet, and to my horror, I noticed that his eyes had turned a sinister shade of red, accompanied by a terrifying, distorted smile on his face. Then, in a voice that resembled that of a devil, he began to laugh.

Consumed by fear, I swiftly ran from the scene and went back home as fast as my legs could carry me. I recounted the unsettling encounter to my friends and parents, but nobody believed me. Nonetheless, I remained steadfast in my belief and vowed never to walk near that spot again.
