An exciting start to the new academic journey

Today was the first day of the new school session, and everyone was really excited. I, Zaima Kashaf, entered Middle-Years-Programme (MYP) – III with a renewed feeling and a desire to set new goals for myself. It seemed like every student had their own hopes and dreams for the year ahead.

We had a new classmate named Rivaan, who joined us in MYP3. It was nice to have someone new, and we all made sure to make him feel welcome. Our class is very friendly and supportive, so Rivaan settled in easily, and we were all eager to go on this journey together.

The school organised a special “back to school” event to make the day even more fun. There was a photo booth where we could take pictures with our friends and capture some great memories. They even had a tattoo shop set up by the teachers, and we could choose temporary tattoos to express ourselves and have a blast.

Another cool thing was the friendship bands counter. We got to make personalised friendship bands for our friends, which was a creative activity that brought us even closer together. As we exchanged bands and tied them on our wrists, it felt like the start of a new year with lots of shared experiences and strong friendships.

Our Form Tutors had a heart-to-heart talk with us, reminding us to start the year with a positive attitude. They encouraged us to face challenges bravely and make the most of every opportunity. It was inspiring to hear their stories and advice, and it set a great tone for the year ahead.

As the day came to an end, we were all so happy and laughing together. We knew this would be a day we’d remember for a long time. The eventful day made our class bond even stronger, and we felt like a close-knit family. Overall, the new school session has begun on a really high note. We all have our goals and dreams, and we’re ready to take on whatever comes our way. The “back to school” event made us feel connected and excited about the year ahead. I can’t wait to see what wonderful experiences and friendships await us in the days to come!
