Aditi Rana, a first-year MBA student with the Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar, is planning to take up Human Resources as her specialisation in the second year. She says, “I am working on learning ways to conduct an effective job interview as well as on my overall development.” Her father Ashok Rana, an ex-employee of AIMETC working as the Admin Officer with Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar at present, is impressed by his daughter’s progress . In a telephonic interview, Mr Rana shares why he thinks Apeejay has been the best pick. Edited excerpts:
Why did you choose AIMETC for Aditi?
I am an ex-employee of AIMETC and I was aware that it’s a very good institute to pursue management education. The institute has an excellent placement track record as well. That’s why I preferred AIMETC for my daughter.
What’s the progress you have seen in Aditi since she joined the institute?
Aditi has completed her B Com. Overall, she is performing really well in her academics as well as extracurricular activities. She has participated in a number of competitions including paper presentation and finance extempore, organised by different clubs in the institute, and has also secured a position in each of these competitions. She is also the placement coordinator of her college and hence, organises mock interviews and group discussion activities for students with the guidance of faculty members. She came first in one-act play competition during the annual event, PINNACLE 2021.
What are her future plans?
She is interested in joining the HR and Marketing field. At present, she is pursuing her two-month internship with a Mumbai-based firm called Speedlabs. She is a marketing intern there. Such opportunities are helping her nurture important skills and giving her an understanding of the job market. I am sure she will join one of the multinational companies after she completes her MBA.
How is your experience with the online classes?
I don’t feel there is any difference between the offline and online classes. The virtual classes are held on time and most importantly, students are actively participating in all the activities.
Are the faculty members engaging well with students?
Yes, teachers at AIMETC guide students at every step and clear doubts of students while preparing them to face real-world challenges. They are very cooperative and friendly.
