I am an author, lawyer, politician, longest serving Prime Minister of free

India and I gave a speech Tryst with Destiny. Who am I? Yes! You are correct, I am Chacha Nehru.

Every year on November 14 Bal Diwas is celebrated in India. Do you know why? I am very close to children. I firmly believe, children of today will make the India of tomorrow. In my entire life, I advocated the need and importance of children’s education. I am of the view that you all are the real assets and backbone of my India.

I have seen many children who dress like me on this day especially with red roses pinned in their collar. I love the way children advocate my ideals on this day. It is one of my dreams to see every child shining like the sun.

I remember, during our struggle for independence many children were willing to sacrifice their lives for the freedom of their fellow Indians.

That was the time where I understood the power of our children. I trust your strength and believe that your efforts will bring remarkable development in our India.

I can recollect one more memory from the treasure where I looked after children of prisoners and organised a school for them during my jail term.

As Prime Minister I constantly tried to support children who were destroyed intellectually, emotionally and suffered from malnutrition.

Every year when I see children celebrating my birth anniversary, I live again, those happy faces make me happy. In this pandemic, I know it has been very difficult for children in terms of education, mental health but do not lose hope. For parents out there children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow.

Never let the child inside you die! HAPPY CHILDREN’S DAY
