NEET UG Counselling 2026: Round 2 registration ends today

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will close the registration window for Round 2 of NEET UG Counselling 2026 today, September 8. Candidates who are yet to register can complete the application process through the official MCC website, mcc.nic.in.

A total of 659 new seats across MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing programmes have been added for the second round of counselling. Candidates participating in the process must complete registration, fee payment and choice filling within the stipulated deadlines.

According to the counselling schedule, registration and fee payment for Round 2 will remain open from September 3 to 8, while choice filling and locking will continue until September 9. The processing of seat allotment will be carried out on September 9 and 10, with the Round 2 seat allotment result scheduled to be announced on September 11.

Candidates allotted seats in Round 2 will be required to report physically to their respective colleges between September 12 and 18 to complete the admission formalities. Students will also have the option to upgrade their allotted seats during Round 3 of counselling, subject to the applicable rules.

More than 29,000 medical and dental seats were allotted during Round 1 of MCC NEET UG Counselling 2026. 

Apart from the MCC counselling process, state authorities are conducting their respective NEET UG counselling for admission against 85 per cent of state quota seats in government medical and dental colleges. Certain seats in private and minority institutions are also filled through state-level counselling.

In Uttar Pradesh, the Round 1 seat allotment result has been released on the official website of the Directorate General of Medical Education and Training. Candidates allotted seats are required to report to their colleges and confirm admission by September 14.

The final Round 1 allotment result for MBBS seats under the competent authority quota in Andhra Pradesh is also available. Meanwhile, the Round 2 schedule for AP NEET UG Counselling 2026 is expected to be announced soon.

In Gujarat, registration for Round 2 of NEET UG counselling is underway, with candidates allowed to submit their choices until September 11.
