Recently, Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, successfully organised the Young India Culinary Championship – Level 1 for students of Grades VI to VIII, providing them with an engaging platform to explore their creativity and culinary skills.
The championship saw enthusiastic participation from young chefs, who showcased remarkable confidence, innovation, and presentation skills as they prepared a variety of delicious and healthy dishes. The participants created an assortment of salads, sandwiches, and canapés, demonstrating their ability to combine taste, nutrition, and visual appeal.
The event was designed to encourage students to develop an appreciation for healthy eating habits while allowing them to express themselves through food. With great enthusiasm and attention to detail, the young participants planned and prepared their creations, experimenting with ingredients, flavours, textures, and presentation styles.


The students displayed impressive culinary skills as they transformed simple ingredients into colourful and appetising dishes. Their thoughtful presentations reflected not only their creativity but also their understanding of the importance of balanced and nutritious food choices.
The championship also helped students develop several essential life skills. From planning and organising their preparations to working with ingredients and presenting their final creations, the activity encouraged teamwork, time management, confidence, and decision-making. It also provided a practical learning experience where students could apply their knowledge of nutrition and healthy food choices in an enjoyable setting.








The enthusiasm of the participants was evident throughout the competition as they confidently presented their dishes and took pride in their culinary creations. Their innovative ideas and attention to presentation added vibrancy to the event.
The Young India Culinary Championship served as a valuable experiential learning opportunity, enabling students to discover and nurture their culinary talents while reinforcing the message that healthy food can be both nutritious and appealing.
