Recently, students of Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad, had a unique opportunity to step into the shoes of medical professionals. A group of enthusiastic learners visited Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, for a one-day internship programme. The visit was designed to give students real-time exposure to hospital functioning and the life-saving work of healthcare practitioners.
The experience was a perfect combination of high-end technology and meaningful learning. Students explored the hospital’s advanced laboratory facilities, which were equipped with cutting-edge diagnostic tools. They observed how different machines function and got insights into modern medical testing procedures. The lab tour helped students understand how technology aids in early detection and accurate diagnosis of various diseases.
Eye-opening experience at the blood bank
One of the most informative parts of the visit was the tour of the hospital’s blood bank. Students witnessed the entire process of blood collection, separation, and transfusion. They were briefed on how different components like plasma and platelets are separated and stored. The visit helped them appreciate the importance of blood donation and how every drop can save lives.

A deep dive into the human anatomy
Students also visited the hospital’s Anatomy Museum, which displayed real human body parts. This part of the tour was both educational and fascinating. Students saw preserved organs, bones, and anatomical structures. It gave them a rare chance to understand the complexity and wonder of the human body up close.
Apart from the technical and clinical aspects, the programme also included a special session on mental health. This segment was highly inspiring and empowering. Students were guided on how emotional well-being is just as important as physical health. They learnt about stress management, the importance of seeking help, and maintaining a balanced lifestyle. It was a valuable takeaway for the young learners.

The one-day internship at Amrita Hospital was a memorable and enriching experience. It not only gave the students a glimpse into the medical field but also sparked a deeper curiosity and respect for healthcare professionals.
