‘The first star in the sky’: Poem by Jaismeen Kaur, Apeejay International School, Greater Noida

I sit at the bonnet
Staring at the sunset
I see the sun disappearing
Like you did
When the evening gets dark
I see something, a bright spark
The loss is grievous
The start is Venus
Hoo-Stars
Grazing as they flicker
I remember
You were my silver
Now you are gone
Made delicate flowers stone
When the first star of the sky
I see you appear in my left eye
Aye!
Could have waited for more time
They say we walk on the same line
You used to say the same
Hmm-Yeah
And I remember watching your silly dance
Hoo
Now you are gone
Made delicate flowers stone
When the first star of the sky
I see you appear in my left eye
