A recent LinkedIn report reveals that AI is not the most in-demand skill for 2025. Instead, creativity, problem-solving, and strategic thinking have emerged as top priorities for employers. The Skills on the Rise 2025 report highlights a shift in business needs, with organisations focusing on human ingenuity alongside AI proficiency.

Key Insights from LinkedIn’s Research

  • 64% of current job skills will evolve by 2030, 69% of recruiters report a skills mismatch in hiring, 60% of professionals are open to switching industries, and 39% of professionals plan to upskill to stay relevant. The fastest-growing skills are: Creativity and innovation, code review, problem-solving, pre-screening, strategic thinking, communication, adaptability, LLMs, and AI literacy, to name a few.

Soft skills like creativity and adaptability are becoming essential across industries. While AI proficiency is expected, businesses are prioritising professionals who combine AI literacy with decision-making capabilities.
