Selecting the right school in India can be a challenging process due to the multitude of factors involved. The country’s vast and diverse educational landscape offers several options, including the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), state boards, International Baccalaureate (IB), and Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). Each of these Boards follows its own unique curriculum and assessment methods, making it difficult for parents to determine the best fit for their child.
However, for some parents like Deepika and Sameer Mittal, choosing the right school for their daughter, Nandita in class XII, was easy since their elder son had studied at Apeejay School, Noida. In an impromptu interview, the father shares his experience with this school.
How and why did you choose Apeejay School, Noida, for your daughter?

It was a natural choice for us because my son had already studied here. For my son, the positive feedback about the school from various sources, including a colleague whose wife taught at an Army Public School had clinched the deal. She highly recommended Apeejay School, and it was also among the schools commonly recommended at that time.
Can you recall some aspects of the school that stood out when you initially visited?
When we visited the campus, we were impressed by its infrastructure and amenities, which confirmed our decision. As soon as we stepped onto the campus, it immediately left a positive impression on us. The well-maintained facilities, combined with the school’s reputation, made us feel confident about our decision.
How have the teachers contributed to your children’s development?
The teachers have played a significant role in shaping our kids. When we first admitted them, we noticed that Apeejay School was not just about academics but also provided opportunities for holistic development. For instance, our children were encouraged to participate in annual day functions and other extracurricular activities, which helped build their confidence. Over time, we realised how much these experiences enriched their growth. The teachers were always supportive and provided timely feedback, helping us address any issues promptly.
What changes have you noticed in your children as a result of their education here?
Both children have become independent, confident, and assertive individuals. The holistic approach at Apeejay School helped them develop these qualities. Additionally, the teachers were proactive in identifying and addressing their areas of improvement. We also received consistent feedback from the teachers, which further ensured their progress.
How is the school supporting your daughter during her class XII Board year?
The school has been extremely supportive towards Nandita. I recently attended a parent-teacher meeting where the teachers were already aware of her mistakes even before reviewing her answer sheets with us. This shows how attentive and keen they are to help students improve. They provided detailed guidance on her shortcomings and suggested areas for improvement. Such timely feedback is invaluable during this critical year.

As parents, how are you helping your daughter manage stress during her Board year?
We ensure she knows we are always there for her. While Nandita is generally calm, there are moments when things don’t go as she expects. In such cases, we console her and provide emotional support to help her bounce back. We encourage her to focus on improvement rather than dwell on setbacks, but most of the time, she manages things on her own.
What is one thing about Apeejay School, Noida, that stands out for you?
The school’s ability to create a supportive and enriching environment for children is remarkable. From the infrastructure to the proactive teachers, everything has been excellent. I would wholeheartedly recommend Apeejay to others because it has been a great institution to be associated with.
