Recently, Apeejay School, Tanda Road in Jalandhar, held an exciting Inter-house Computer Quiz that brought together students from classes V to VIII. The engaging event was designed to spark interest in technology and digital literacy and to test students’ understanding of computer fundamentals, programming basics, and recent technological advancements. The quiz challenged the young minds to demonstrate not only their technical knowledge but also their quick thinking and teamwork.
The energy in the room was palpable as each team collaborated, deliberated, and raced against the clock to answer questions accurately. Covering a range of topics from computer basics to recent innovations, the quiz saw students applying what they’ve learned in class and beyond.
According to Simranjit Kaur, TGT Science at Apeejay School, Tanda Road in Jalandhar, computer quizzes boost digital literacy, encouraging students to become comfortable with technology, which is crucial in the modern world.

“These quizzes also enhance problem-solving abilities, logical thinking, and adaptability as students work through various tech-related questions. Furthermore, they promote teamwork, perseverance, and healthy competition, helping students improve in both personal and academic domains,” the educator shared.
These quizzes, she said, specifically help students deepen their understanding of essential tech concepts, digital tools, and cyber safety. “It’s an engaging way to introduce or reinforce technical knowledge, like coding basics or internet etiquette. Such quizzes can inspire interest in technology-related fields and allow students to explore potential future careers,” Ms Kaur said.

A sense of healthy competition
The atmosphere was charged with a sense of healthy competition, with participants striving not just to win but to represent their houses with pride. The collaborative setting encouraged team spirit as students cheered each other on, working together to tackle complex questions and rise to the occasion.
Summerjot Singh of class VIII, shared, “I found the computer quiz to be exceptionally engaging and informative. The well-crafted questions effectively identified knowledge gaps and facilitated improvement. The content was highly relevant. The interactive format enhanced the learning experience. Overall, an outstanding educational resource.”

Another class VIII student, Aarish said: “Participating in the computer quiz was an exciting and challenging experience. It covered a range of topics, from basic computer operations to advanced technology trends, which tested my knowledge and quick thinking. I enjoyed the thrill of racing against time to answer questions and working through some tricky ones. Preparing for the quiz helped me learn new concepts and gain confidence in my computer skills. Overall, the event was both educational and fun.”
While all houses performed admirably, the winning team was met with enthusiastic applause and was congratulated for their efforts. Students left the event with not just the memory of the competition but also a renewed interest in technology.
