Good fortune is what happens when opportunity meets with planning, is the success motto of this young genius. Meet Vanshika Rana who is studying in class IV at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg.

“I owe all my good grades to my mother. It’s her hard work and efforts that have borne the sweet fruit of victory for me. My mother prepared a whole monthly plan wherein my study hours for each subject was systematically laid out,” shared Vanshika.

She further shares that Science is her most favourite subject. “Science is filled with the most interesting facts and trivia. I am particularly mesmerised by the activities we perform in the science lab. Like recently we learned about the parts of a leaf and I was astonished to learn so much about a mere leaf,” explained the 8-year-old.

“I love to study and I aspire to become a doctor; similar to my mother. I have seen how normal people consider doctors akin to God, which is such an overwhelming yet a noble sentiment,” added Vanshika, who calls Jayanti Ma’am, her science teacher, as her most favourite.

Upon asking about her favourite writer, Vanshika is quick to reply, JK Rowling. “I have read the entire Harry Potter; all 8 books. I am in complete awe of the author and her style of writing. What a genius!” she added.

Vanshika further explains, “I am a self-learner and I study mostly on my own other than a few subjects like Geography, which is taught by my father. He has been fond of this subject since his school days so we are together; daughter-father duo learn about India’s states and their features. I am an early riser and an early sleeper because this habit keeps me healthy and happy,” concludes the young prodigy.
