Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation under the global theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.” The programme was organized by the institute’s National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell to spread awareness about yoga’s importance in promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, emotional balance, and a healthy lifestyle across all life stages.

The celebration brought together faculty members, staff, and students who enthusiastically participated and reaffirmed their commitment to health, wellness, and mindful living through yoga practice. The atmosphere was filled with positivity and energy as participants gathered to embrace yoga’s timeless wisdom and its relevance in today’s fast-paced world.

Sharing his message, Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director of AIMETC, highlighted yoga’s transformative role in modern life and emphasized its significance in ensuring overall well-being. Addressing the gathering, he said, “Yoga is the key to a healthier, happier, and more balanced life. It nurtures physical vitality, mental clarity, and inner peace at every stage of life. Yoga is not merely an exercise but a way of life that enables individuals to age with strength, dignity, and positivity. Through regular practice, we can enhance our physical abilities, maintain mental clarity, reduce stress, and lead more fulfilling lives.”

The yoga session featured a comprehensive series of activities designed to benefit participants of all age groups. The programme included various yoga asanas, pranayama techniques, meditation practices, and stretching exercises aimed at improving flexibility, posture, concentration, immunity, and overall wellness. Under expert guidance, participants performed the exercises with dedication and enthusiasm, experiencing yoga’s calming, rejuvenating, and energizing effects.

The event served as an important reminder of yoga’s growing relevance in contemporary society, where stress, sedentary lifestyles, and health challenges are increasingly common. Through practical demonstrations and guided sessions, participants gained a deeper understanding of how yoga can contribute to healthy ageing, emotional resilience, and sustainable well-being.

The programme also reinforced the significance of yoga as India’s timeless gift to the world. It highlighted how regular yogic practices can help individuals achieve harmony between mind and body while fostering self-discipline, mindfulness, and inner strength. The observance underscored yoga’s role in building healthier communities and encouraging individuals to adopt preventive healthcare practices.

The celebration concluded with all participants making a collective pledge to incorporate yoga into their daily routines and embrace a lifestyle rooted in wellness, mindfulness, and self-discipline. The NSS Cell reiterated its commitment to organizing similar initiatives in the future to inspire students to adopt healthy habits, enhance their holistic development, and contribute positively to society.

The successful celebration of International Day of Yoga 2026 once again reflected AIMETC’s dedication to nurturing not only academic excellence but also the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of its students and campus community.
