Anushi Singla is a professional architect who runs her own firm along with her husband. She pursued her Bachelors of Architecture and Interior Design from Apeejay Institute of Technology – School of Architecture & Planning (AIT-SAP) and is a proud alumna of the batch of 2011.

In an informal chat, Architect Singla tells us about her work life and how AIT-SAP helped her realise her career ambition. Read edited excerpts:

Anushi, please tell us about your current work profile?

I am working with my husband in our architecture firm named GD Construction. It is located in Delhi and Gurgaon.

How is a regular day at work?

We mainly do residential and commercial building projects. I work around 3-4 hours and then go on to supervise the work. Then there are site visits as well which take my time.

So, how were the days at AITSAP?

It was a great experience! The teachers were all great mentors. We had a guest faculty named Architect Joshi, who encouraged me so much. All the seniors were great motivators as well. I learned so much there.

Any fun anecdotes?

Plenty! Everyday spent there was absolutely fun. But the most fun time was when we used to go to the NASA (The National Association of Students of Architecture) events . They were so fun.

A word of advice for the current students?

Work hard, concentrate and you will achieve your dream. That’s it! (laughs)
