“My child doesn’t listen… he’s so stubborn!” — a concern we hear so often.
But is it really stubbornness, or is it our way of communication?
Children often resist when they are only given commands and no choices. When we say, “Sit down and do your homework,” it leaves them with no sense of control. And where there is no choice, there is often resistance.
Builds confidence
Encourages responsibility
Reduces power struggles
Promotes cooperation
Even in daily routines, like getting ready, giving small choices (what to wear, what to do first) can make a big difference.
What we call stubbornness is often a child’s way of expressing the need to be heard.
Let’s guide, not control, and watch our children respond with positivity and confidence.
