‘Whenever I am facing any issue, Principal Ma’am understands my problem and helps resolve it’

Mr Ankush Chitranshi works in NTT India DTC Private Ltd as a Remote Server Support Engineer (Level Three). He is the proud father of Ananya Chitranshi, class 1 student at Apeejay International School, Greater Noida. In an interview, he shares his reasons for choosing the school, his daughter’s progress at school and his perception of the online mode of learning. Edited excerpts:

Why did you choose Apeejay International School, Greater Noida over other schools for your child’s admission?

I had received great feedback about the school from some of my colleagues whose children study in the school. I was also aware about Apeejay International School and its rich legacy in the field of education. Their teachers and their method of teaching is very good. Also the school organises a number of extra- curricular activities. I had read about this in the newspapers and had also heard great reviews about the same, again from my colleagues. So I chose Apeejay International School, Greater Noida for my daughter.

Please tell us a bit about Ananya and take us through her progress at school?

Ananya loves to talk. She is very interested and enthusiastic about all the music, art and dance competitions. In academics, she is learning a lot. She picks up very quickly actually. I remember, recently her teacher told her to read aloud a lesson. After reading the lesson 4-5 times, she learned the lesson. She grasps very fast. Maths is her favourite subject. She loves art as well. Among her hobbies, as I have already mentioned it is dancing, singing and colouring that she enjoys the most.

Dipti Srivastava, Ananya’s mother has given her full guidance and support both as a teacher and as a mother. She is the reason behind Ananya’s progress at school.

Are the teachers engaging well with the students?

Ananya has been a part of the school since class Nursery. Nisha Ma’am was her class teacher then. She guided her very well. Ananya learns a lot every day at school from learning counting to numbers and everything else. She loves extra-curricular activities such as dance, art and music. In Kindergarten, Vartika Ma’am was her class teacher. She was a very talented and supportive teacher. It was at that point in time that online teaching had started but she did a great job. She focused her teaching method on understanding the problem of the child. Even Aishwarya Ma’am, her current class teacher, is doing a great job. Ananya is participating in all the activities and competitions. I have seen a lot of improvement in her.

Special thanks to all the teachers. Ananya learned a lot from all of them. I would like to thank the art teacher Saurabh madam, music teacher Baidyanath sir and sports teacher Upender Sir. Ananya enjoys their classes and learns a lot from them as well. So basically, all the teachers and the support staff of the school is very good.

What is the best thing about the school?

I think the fact that the Principal of the school and other higher authorities are very humble. The communication with them is so smooth. Whenever I am facing any issue, Principal Ma’am (Dr Sarita Pande) not only understands my issue but also helps resolve it at the same time. So basically, the Principal, higher management and all the teachers are very humble and approachable.

What is your perception about the online mode of learning?

The online classes are new for both the teachers and students. The school environment and online environment are very different. But Ananya is catching up very well. She is learning a lot from the online classes. I think from the point of view of knowledge and education there’s not much of a difference between online and physical classes.
