Mr Siddhartha Bhargava is working as a Senior Executive with Calibehr Business Support. He is an Apeejay Panchsheel Park alumnus from the batch of 1992. In an informal interview, the HR executive reminisces about his school days and yesteryear achievements and also gives life lessons to current students. Edited excerpts:

Please tell us a bit about your current work profile?

I am into Human Resources (HR). We primarily look after the documentation and joining formalities of a candidate. I am also looking after the FnF queries, mediclaims, Employee state insurance, provident formalities and other related queries. I take up the queries of the candidates who resign, get their exit forms filled.

What was the inspiration to go into the HR field?

When my father started his business, I used to do data entry for him. Later, I went to Intelenet Global Services and there I started learning about onboarding. At that time, in 2009 there were not many facilities but things are now online in the HR sphere. The documentation process is entirely online now. It also becomes easier for us.

Please tell us some of your best memories from Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park?

One of my best memories is from class 8. I was selected for a theatre performance under the Barry John Theatre Group. I was the first student to be selected amongst 150 boys at school. I still remember the name of the play was Patakhe. We rehearsed for six weeks. I happened to break my leg on the first day of the rehearsal. Those were some great memories.

Lots of other memories are also there. In sports, I was part of the football team. I was a goalkeeper and used to enjoy it a lot.

How did Apeejay Panchsheel Park help you to pursue your passion in school?

During my school time, I was not keeping well. I had hydrocephalus, basically water went inside my skull as a child. During that period (school-days), I was operated on 29 times. All my teachers and classmates would help me a lot especially in academics.

What life lessons would you give to a current student at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park?

Whatever you are doing, go fully into that. Don’t change your line so frequently. I started my career with sales. From 2009 I came in HR. I am in HR now as well. A person who changes his line very frequently, misses opportunities to grow in life. Some people do grow by changing their line but the majority don’t.

What are your future targets in the world of HR?

Grow the company, grow myself and have a good and peaceful life. I am about to become the Team Leader now in my department. I am looking forward to that. Also, I love singing. Actually, my parents love to sing. I got the inspiration to sing from my father Mr. Vishnu Bhargava and mother Mrs. Neeru Bhargava. Together, we also participate in many music events near our home. I would like to thank my wife (Mrs Sarika Bhargava) and daughter Kriti for their constant encouragement in the same. This too actually, one can trace back to school. In school as well, I would heavily participate in the singing competitions. So, that was where it all started!
