Unity in the nation is a must!
This National Unity Day, Apeejay Stya University in Gurugram organises a pledge and run for unity event to help students realise unity through practical ideas
We all have families of one or the other kind. Hence, none of us are strangers to how much unity is required to sustain any relationship or group. Imagine how much unity then do we need to sustain and help the nation progress, after all the nation too is just a bigger family.
Apeejay Stya University (ASU) in Gurugram is aware of the importance of unity in the nation. It is thus, that the university in association with the National Service Scheme, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan and the Rotaract Club of ASUG organised a ‘Pledge for Unity’ and ‘Run for Unity’ activity on the occasion of National Unity Day.
Prof (Dr) R S Dhankar, Vice Chancellor, ASU, motivated the students with a very special address. He explained to the students, “Unity is one of the chief factors that makes a nation great and helps it progress faster across all realms in a geometric progression pace.”
He also enlightened the students about the herculean contribution of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel in being the architect of modern India. He urged the students to remember the nation’s Iron Man’s vision of national unity and always walk on that path and actively contribute towards the same.
He then administered the pledge to all students. It was a sight to behold as all students and faculty raised their right arm and repeated after the to preserve the unity, security and integrity of the nation and strive hard to spread this message forward.
The Vice Chancellor then waved the tricolour which spread a wave of patriotism amongst all students present. With this, he flagged off the ‘Run for Unity’ event as students took a walk across the campus and spread the message of unity and peace in the nation.
