The National Testing Agency (NTA) has unveiled the examination schedule for the University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) June 2024 exam. Scheduled for June 18, 2024, the exam will be divided into two shifts. Shift 1 will run from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, followed by Shift 2 from 3 pm to 6 pm.

UGC-NET will encompass 83 subjects in OMR (Pen and Paper) mode, with the complete schedule available on the official NTA website. Notably, the notification disclosing the exam center’s city will be posted on NTA websites https://ugcnet.nta.ac.in and www.nta.ac.in, at least 10 days prior to the exam.

This exam is instrumental for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor appointments, and PhD admissions. It serves as a crucial milestone for aspiring academics, determining their eligibility for these academic pursuits.

Since December 2018, NTA has been administering UGC-NET in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode biannually, in June and December.

Crucially, the awarding of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and/or eligibility for Assistant Professorship hinges on the candidate’s aggregate performance in Paper-I and Paper-II of UGC-NET. Candidates qualifying solely for Assistant Professorship are ineligible for JRF consideration. Those who qualify as Assistant Professors must adhere to the regulations of respective universities/colleges/State Governments for recruitment.
