As a part of the educative-spiritual journey, a jolly tour to the ISKCON Temple was organised by Apeejay School, Tanda Road in Jalandhar, for its youngest group of learners of the nursery, LKG, and UKG. This visit also provided the students with an opportunity to seek blessings and experience the rich cultural tapestry related to the life and teachings of Lord Krishna.
As a whole, this was a very well-planned event, considering the tender age and full capacity of the attendees for engagement. Then, upon arrival at the temple, the children were introduced to the tranquil and inviting atmosphere that this spiritual haven would have presented. This was meant to set the tone for the rest of the day. Next, the children were blessed by the panditji at the temple in a way that invoked serenity and well-being among the young scholars.

As the tour proceeded, the panditji described in vivid detail the significance attached to this place, which was the birthplace of Lord Krishna, and his transcendental journey. Simple stories and anecdotes described to the children the virtues such as truth, compassion, and love demonstrated during the teachings of Lord Krishna. The whole story was presented especially to entertain children’s minds while providing them with useful lessons in morality.
Celebration Through Song and Dance
The children contributed to the event by singing hymns enthusiastically in unison, which is a major part of celebrating Krishna’s legacy, and dancing. Their faces radiated with joy, showing that every move they made was full of life as those diverse dimensions of the hymns came into play. This made it a very engaging process of learning, spiritually very rewarding. This dialogic mode of learning ensured that the students were not passive recipients but became active participants in the process of spiritual education.

A visit to the ISKCON Temple for these young students turned out to be much more than an educational outing; their souls were rich by the end of this journey. The stories about Lord Krishna helped the children glean lessons that may not usually be taught within the four walls of a schoolroom: Lessons on courtesy, sharing, and jubilation.
This visit to the ISKCON Temple spiritually enriched the students and gave them more profound insight into a very significant cultural and religious persona, thus making it a truly remarkable day in their early academic lives.

Meanwhile, the school also organised an English Declamation for the senior students. Such Declamations help students develop their public speaking and argumentative skills. It also helps in the development of critical thinking skills, as students have to analyse situations, consider different perspectives, and argue their points convincingly. The event saw enthusiastic participation from one and all making it a success.
