Parent orientation programmes play a crucial role in the education ecosystem, serving as a bridge between schools and families. These programmes are designed to inform, engage, and empower parents, fostering a collaborative environment that supports student success. To evoke a sense of similar collaboration among parents and teachers, Apeejay School, Kharghar recently hosted a Parent Orientation Programme for the parents of the newly admitted students.

The event took place on June 22, 2024, to familiarise parents with the school’s mission, vision, and policies while offering insights into our educational environment. The orientation of the programme commenced with a warm welcome given by the Principal of the school, Dr Sonali Balwatkar, who highlighted the school’s illustrious legacy in detail and shared anecdotes along with various statistics that showcased our students’ remarkable achievements and outstanding board results, reflecting our commitment to academic excellence.

Following the Principal’s address, the event featured an insightful session titled “Navigating Parenting in a Digital World,” conducted by the renowned clinical psychologist, Dr Shilpa Parhar. She offered valuable guidance on managing children’s screen time, fostering healthy digital habits, and ensuring online safety. 

Her expert advice helped parents understand the complexities of modern digital parenting. The interactive session was highly engaging, with parents actively participating in a lively Q&A session. They voiced their concerns and sought advice on various contemporary parenting challenges, making the discussion both dynamic and enriching. The session was well-received, highlighting the importance of equipping parents with the tools to navigate the digital landscape effectively.

The event concluded with a luncheon, providing parents and staff a chance to interact informally and foster a sense of community and collaboration. This gathering allowed parents to connect, share experiences, and build relationships that will support their children’s educational journeys. 

The parent orientation was a resounding success, setting a positive tone for the new academic year and strengthening the bond between the school and its parent community.
