The bright and sunny morning of September 5, 2024, began with excitement and gratitude; Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park congregated to celebrate Teachers’ Day. The entire day was packed with activities that celebrated the untiring efforts which teachers put into shaping the future. The red carpet welcome was a way of respecting and thanking the educators for moulding the future.

It started with a floral obeisance offered to the memory of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birthday is celebrated as Teachers’ Day in India. This was followed by the chanting of a shloka to the reverential Guru Vandana, invoking an atmosphere that was solemn and grateful.

A special cultural programme was staged for the teachers. Ms. Surabhi Joshi, Principal, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park read out the message from Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, Chancellor Apeejay Stya University, and Chairman, Apeejay Education.

Dear Teachers,

I wish you all a very Happy Teachers’ Day!

For us, this day is really very special, as the role of teachers in an education institution is paramount. Also, it is an occasion to acknowledge the contribution of teachers in shaping up the youth and the nation, throughout the year.

I would like to commend you all on your excellent work. I am sure that the new challenges that beckon us would be met by you with the same resilience, dedication and determination which you have always demonstrated.

Value-based education including human values continues to be the cornerstone of all Apeejay Education Institutions. The overarching goal is to bring about harmony in the physical, socio-emotional, intellectual and spiritual development of the students. Our campuses not only inculcate a love for learning but encourage an entire way of life rooted in values and wellness, while also keeping abreast with emerging technologies and 21st-century learning. In tune with NEP, our endeavour is to make education more experiential, stress-free and joyful.

Our motto ‘Soaring High is My Nature’ exemplifies the fact that we should never rest on our laurels, as the pursuit of excellence is a never-ending quest, and there are always new skies to conquer.

I am sure that as educators, we are conscious and mindful of the new realities in relevant emerging domains, so that our institutions scale many more peaks of success in the years to come.

Once again, Happy Teachers’ Day!

As the assembly progressed, it was time for the students to get into the act and reflect upon the life and monumental contributions of Dr Radhakrishnan to the field of education. The reflective moment finally dissolved into a kaleidoscope of cultural talent as the students danced with a lot of energy — a medley of popular songs infused the gathering with enthusiasm and joy. This was followed by a rare touch of flair-a performance of Flamenco dance that again showed the diversity of the talents at play within the student fraternity.

Overall, the Teacher’s Day in Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, was more than a celebration, it was a ‘thank you’ from the bottom of the students’ hearts to educators who devoted their lives to teaching and nurturing young minds. The day was full of joy, marking deep gratitude and eloquently capturing the essence of being a teacher.
