‘This MBA school brought out the best in me’

“I am very happy with the placement,” says Kiran Chaudhary, who recently bagged a job at HDFC Bank through campus placements at Apeejay School of Management (ASM). Excited to begin her journey as a personal banker, the MBA student believes the institute played a crucial role in developing and polishing her professional skills.

Edited excerpts from an interview:

Was this your first job interview?

I worked for three years before enrolling in a post-graduate diploma in management (PGDM) course at ASM. I worked in the banking sector at that time also.

In what ways was the curriculum at ASM beneficial?

While I already had professional experience, what ASM did was sharpen my skills. They brought out the best in me. The course comprised several case studies and workshops which taught us how to implement theoretical knowledge in businesses. On the other hand, the placement cell helped me prepare well for job interviews by teaching me various strategies.

Can you tell us more about ASM’s placement cell?

My mentor, who was assigned at the start of the course itself, started with the basics like resume writing. I learnt how to convince the recruiter about my qualities and my potential. We also got the opportunity to interact with corporate mentors, who had graduated from ASM. As industry insiders, they gave us detailed information about how the corporate world works.

What do you have to say about ASM’s faculty?

They are the best! They provided every possible help and support to students. From group discussions to presentations, they made us practise it all. Their insights, based on years of experience, have left a great impact on our personalities. Besides academics, they also instilled good human values in us. They always motivated us and pushed us to confront challenges in order to achieve success.
