This Jalandhar college equips learners with invaluable industry insights, skills

The PG Department of Commerce at Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar, recently organised an internship drive in collaboration with Amrit Malwa Capital Limited. The drive  aimed at providing valuable opportunities for students enrolled in B Com and BBA programmes. This initiative, spearheaded by the MAC FORUM, signifies a significant stride towards bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world application.

Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal of ACFA, emphasised the importance of such internship drives in enhancing students’ confidence and expanding their practical knowledge within their respective fields. She underscored the value of hands-on experience, particularly in disciplines like Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, and e-filing, where theoretical concepts are complemented by practical exposure.

The collaboration with Amrit Malwa Capital Limited, led by Apeejay College alumnus Gurusahaj Gill, offered students a unique opportunity to delve into the intricacies of the non-banking financial corporation sector in North India. Mr. Gill expressed his company’s commitment to nurturing young talent by providing them with avenues to earn while learning. This symbiotic approach not only enriches students’ academic journey but also equips them with invaluable industry insights and skills.

Ms. Kanika, Head of HR at Amrit Malwa Capital, played a pivotal role in the Internship Drive by conducting interviews to gauge students’ interests and align them with suitable internship opportunities within the company. This personalised approach ensures that students can leverage their strengths and interests while gaining hands-on experience in their chosen field.

Dr. Dhingra commended the dedicated efforts of Dr. Monica Arora, Head of the Department of Commerce, and Ms. Garima Arora, Incharge of the MAC FORUM, for orchestrating a successful internship drive. Their meticulous planning and coordination have facilitated a seamless transition for students from academia to the corporate world.
