Yashkiran pursues a uniquely captivating course in her graduation. She is a Psychology and dance student at Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar. She is currently rehearsing hard along with her team members for the zonal competitions and her father is happy to see this growth in her daughter.

In a quick interview, her father Mr Bhupinder Singh mentions how ACFA has been the right choice for Yashkiran and appreciates the way the college develops each student’s personality. Read edited excerpts:

We hope Yashkiran is enjoying her time at college?

She is enjoying her time at college. She has made many friends and her mind is focused on learning as much as she can to develop herself to the maximum.

That’s good to hear! But Psychology and Dance is a very unique combination. What was her inspiration behind this?

She has always been very passionate about dance. This is her life. And she is also deeply interested in psychology. So she chose this combination. It’s that simple!

So what future aim does she have? Dancer or Psychologist?

She loves dance more but I always encourage her to go into psychology. But she chose this college because of the way they promote and support art. She is participating at the zonal level and I think will also be there in a national level event in the coming time. As of now she is immersed in the dance rehearsals for the zonal competition.

Are the teachers doing justice to their job?

Absolutely! The way her dance teachers make all the students rehearse is really very labour intensive. They are truly sculpting our children. I have such a huge growth in my daughter’s personality. She is now the head girl of the college.

How is the college infrastructure, ambience and other factors?

Everything is very good. I am totally satisfied. Everything is tailor made to suit the requirements of the students and it’s truly great.

So the decision to choose this college paid off?

This is the number 1 college in Jalandhar. And when it comes to art, there is no college even close to ACFA. So there wasn’t any other option.
