Apeejay Stya University students bag award at Model UN

Dhairya Kapur from Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication and Raunak Jha from Bachelor of Commerce in Management of Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram have bagged the High Commendation award in the recently concluded “G20 Summit on Anti-Corruption Working Group”. They represented the anti-corruption and working group of Italy in their debate.

The inter-college competition was organised by G.D Goenka University in collaboration with the Government of Haryana, where students from 15 universities across Delhi-NCR represented 28 countries.

The event was graced by Shri Nishant Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram and Mr. Akhilesh Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Gurugram.

Adarsh Kumar Singh from GD Goenka University was the Chairperson for this event. Meanwhile, Bhavika Dabur from Delhi University and Arjun Arora from GD Goenka University were the Co-Chairperson. Tanvi Aggarwal from OP Jindal University was the Vice-Chairperson.

A spirited discussion saw winners being awarded in the categories of Best Delegate, High Commendation and Special Mention.

On winning the award, Dhairya expressed, “We were told about this event 2 days prior, which was actually very less time to prepare for a debate. But we did our best and won the award. This competition was at district level and now we are preparing for state as well as national level completions. I wish to participate in more such events to gain exposure.”

This MUN was one among the series of events being organised across the various schools and universities in support of the upcoming G20 Summit.
