‘This day will be written in history’: Shah unveils MBBS books in Hindi

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has unveiled textbooks in Hindi for Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) students as part of the Madhya Pradesh government’s ambitious project to impart medical education in the language.

In a first-of-its-kind move, Shah released the textbooks in Hindi of three subjects, i.e. Biochemistry, Anatomy and Medical Physiology as part of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He called it an important day in history and further announced that Engineering, Polytechnic and Law Education will also soon be imparted in Hindi.

“This day will be written in history in golden letters. This moment marks the revival of the education sector in the country,” he said during the launch at Lal Parade Ground.

“This is a moment of restructuring of the education sector in the country. I feel proud in saying that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s government is the first who implemented the NEP effectively in the state,” he added.

The Centre’s NEP supports offering professional education in regional languages.
