Read edited excerpts:
Rishit, can you tell us about your journey at Apeejay School and how it has influenced your academic success?
My journey at Apeejay School began in Class 3, and it has been a formative experience. The supportive environment here has played a crucial role in my academic and personal growth. Achieving an 86.2% in the Commerce stream required several effective strategies, including attentive classroom participation, detailed note-taking, and regular revisions. I made it a point to clarify any doubts with my teachers, which strengthened my understanding of the subjects.
What strategies did you use to manage your study routine and balance academics with other activities?
Initially, transitioning from Class 10 to 11 was challenging due to the increased difficulty level. I struggled with balancing my study schedule, but over time, I developed a structured routine. My daily schedule evolved to include dedicated study times for different subjects and also allowed for extracurricular activities like playing badminton. This structured approach helped me manage my academics and maintain a healthy balance.
Which subjects did you find most challenging, and how did you overcome those challenges?

Business Studies and Economics were the most challenging subjects for me. To overcome these challenges, I focused on making comprehensive notes and actively sought clarification during class. In Business Studies, my detailed notes helped break down complex topics. For Economics, I plan to adopt a new approach in Class 12 to improve my understanding. Conversely, Maths and Accountancy were more intuitive for me, and English was made easier by my engaging teacher.
How did the learning environment at Apeejay School contribute to your success?
The learning environment at Apeejay School has been instrumental in my success. The teachers’ interactive teaching methods, regular assessments, and supportive atmosphere created a conducive learning environment. The school also offers various resources like the LCD room for interactive learning, extracurricular activity facilities, and counselling services, which have significantly enhanced my academic experience.
Can you describe any specific resources or facilities at Apeejay that were particularly helpful for your studies?
Yes, several resources and facilities at Apeejay School were particularly beneficial. The sports facilities helped me stay physically active, which was important for stress management. Additionally, the counselling and guidance centre offered valuable support for academic and career planning, which helped me make informed decisions about my future.

What are your future goals, and how are you preparing for them?
I aim to pursue a career in management and am currently preparing for the IPMAT examination, which will help me gain entry into an integrated BBA + MBA program at an IIM. My goal is to excel in this exam and eventually contribute to the corporate world. I am dedicating significant time to rigorous preparation, covering all necessary subjects and practising extensively.
What advice would you give to students looking to achieve academic success?
My advice is to pay attention in class, make comprehensive notes, and revise regularly. Don’t hesitate to ask teachers for help and clarify doubts. It’s important to balance studies with relaxation and hobbies, as enjoying your time is crucial for maintaining motivation. Stay organised and manage your time effectively to achieve your academic goals.
What was the most memorable moment for you from the past academic year?
The most memorable moment was receiving my answer scripts and seeing my average score. It was incredibly rewarding to see the results of my hard work. Being praised by my class teacher for scoring the highest in my stream was a significant achievement and affirmed my efforts throughout the year.
