‘The school goes beyond academics; I like this holistic approach’

Education is not merely a reading of books. It goes way beyond academics and Chanchal Aggarwal knows this simple fact. She understands that there are many soft skills without the acquisition of which, one cannot be said to be fully educated.

It is thus, that she has chosen Apeejay International School, Greater Noida for her son Viraj’s education. In a relaxed conversation, the mother shares how this school puts in a conscious effort to look beyond the book and provides all knowledge in relevance to the modern-day world.

 Are you satisfied with your son’s performance this year?

It was nice! Viraj got an A grade overall which is very impressive. He loves to read, especially his English books. His hand is a bit tied in Hindi but I am confident that he will begin to like the subject with time. Apart from studies, my son loves doing yoga at school and enjoys all class activities.

 Do you agree that the efforts of the teachers have paid off?

The best part about the teachers in this school is that they enjoy teaching. They like interacting with the toddlers and teaching therefore fun for them. Hence, the result is bound to be great.  Aishwarya ma’am, my son’s class teacher in class I, was a very good mentor. I hope the same is true now that he is in class II. 

Was the admission process complicated?

We enrolled my son in class I. It was simple and not complicated at all. We had an interview with the principal. She spoke to us and then with Viraj separately. The meeting didn’t have the pressure of formal interaction. I did not even feel like it was an interview, it rather felt like a happy interaction with the head of the school. The entire time that we were talking it was disarming, professional, and amiable. 

 Would you recommend the school to another parent?

Absolutely! The school has everything that is needed in today’s time. It is the perfect place for education. Whatever a child needs in the modern world, it is all present in this school. This branch truly deserves to be recommended to other parents. 

 What is the best thing about this school?

The overall development of the student is taken into account. The school goes beyond academics and seeks to develop the child’s personality. It understands that academics is not the only skill in life and that it can’t stand alone especially, in today’s day and age. All skills are needed to have a successful life. The school believes in and practices this holistic approach to education. I love this fact the most! I have seen the growth in my son since he joined the school, only a year back, and I am glad to say that this school is on the right path.
