Ishika Bhog works at Adfactors PR as a trainee account executive. She is an Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC) alumna and has recently started her professional career. In an informal interview, the former Corporate Communications student from the batch of 2022 gives insight into her work schedule and shares advice for the current students. Edited excerpts:

What does a day at work entail?

I start my day by sending out the daily updates. It is then followed by the team meeting. I then align the daily priorities at work. Generally, this is followed by client meetings. Then if there is a press release we disseminate it, and then follow up with it. Also, I send out the content at times as well. Occasionally, I also have to engage with influencers.

What drives you to work everyday?

My cousin was in this field, so that inspired me to join this field as well. But it is my colleagues and the good environment at work that drives me every morning. I love brainstorming with my colleagues and thinking of creative ideas.

Best memories from AIMC days?

In our projects at AIMC, we got hypothetical brands and we did a lot of event activation for that. That process helped us learn a lot about the industry.

One success mantra for the current students?

Take the sourest lemon life has to offer and turn it into something resembling lemonade

Your future plans?

I will be working in this organisation for some time. I want to grow here through more opportunities.
