‘The importance of English language’: Short note by Aashi Gharat, Apeejay School, Kharghar

As rightly said by Benjamin Lee Whorf, “Language shapes the way we think and determines what we can think about.” English is a very important language and plays a key role in the modern globalized world. 

It has a vital role in a person’s life as it plays a necessary role in one’s communication. English is a ray of golden opportunities when it comes to employment. It improves the quality of one’s life by providing good job opportunities. A good command of this language shall mean better communication skills and one can then clearly put his / her points forward.

Learning English also comes handy when we travel to a different place. 
Irrespective of wherever we come from, the English language will always help us in all situations. English is a universal language. It is the official language for studying any subject around the world thereby making it a must learn for all age groups especially for students.

Through various activities like the English week which was recently celebrated in our school, awareness about this language’s importance can be created. Through these activities we can enrich our vocabulary, improve our communication skills and cherish the literary treasures.
