Human values are more like invisible threads that tend to weave the tapestry of our lives. Such guiding compasses influence individuals about how to interact and react with people around them. Meet Ansh Aggarwal, who was recently conferred with the prestigious Dr.Stya Paul Award for Human Values

In an impromptu interview, Ansh, a student of class Xth studying at Apeejay International School, Greater Noida gives us insights into how human values underpin the concepts of wrongdoings and right doings in our lives.

Excerpts from the interview

Tell us about yourself.

I am always keen on exploring and learning new things. I enjoy playing instruments like Tabla. Moreover, I possess a deep affection for mathematics and have an innate interest in playing badminton.

What do you understand about human values?

Human values can easily be defined as something on whose basis one must always act. For instance, perseverance, honesty, charity, and self-discipline all come under one roof of Human values. Every person must possess human values regardless of their age.

What was your reaction to your big achievement?

I experienced a whirlwind of emotions. I was shocked but extremely happy at the same time.  Despite several previous nominations without success, I am incredibly grateful for my patience in finally achieving this honor.

How would you follow a lead of human values?

My intention is to provide food and financial assistance to those in need. Every year on my birthday, I try to feed at least one person who is hungry or less fortunate. While at school, I actively participate in the school council and engage in various activities to instill discipline and support younger students.

Who is your role model?

My father. I really am looking forward to becoming like him. He works hard for not just himself but for the family too. Moreover, the confidence he holds is commendable.

On what basis one can get nominated for the ‘Awards for Human Values’ by Dr. Stya Paul?

One should be respectful to the teachers, elders, and even your younger ones. Moreover, it’s very important to own who you are and be punctual with everything you ought to do or perform. Such values and attributes are observed by our school teachers on which basis they shortlist and further select an individual for such a coveted award.

Anything you want to imbibe in your life that reflects the essence of Dr.Stya Paul?

Majorly, perseverance. At such a young age he had so many challenges that came his way but he intended to overcome them and reach a successful position. Despite all his setbacks, he carried the Svran legacy and turned to many educational institutions. I would want to inculcate the leadership qualities and compassion he had. There is a reason why every student yearns to become like him. I believe, one day I will also be able to inspire other people just like he did.
