Teachers’ Day: Students present melodious songs, classical dances to honour mentors 

A special programme was also organised by the teachers for their colleagues and won their hearts with foot-tapping performances

On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the students of Apeejay School, Noida, put together a beautiful programme to express gratitude to their teachers for their relentless efforts and hard work.

To acknowledge the contribution of teachers, the students of classes nursery-5 prepared a special assembly on September 5. They shared an invigorating “thought of the day” and paid their homage to former Indian president Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, on whose birthday we celebrate Teacher’s Day. The assembly commenced with a harmonious chorus song. The students went on to share an informative speech on the significance of Teacher’s Day, followed by poem recitations and PPTs to honour their mentors.

Among other performances, the children belted out a lovely melody of peppy numbers. also presented captivating dance performances, closing the event with a solo Bharatanatyam and Kathak performance.

AK Sharma, principal, along with the vice principal and primary incharges, highlighted the importance of self-motivation and the role of a ‘Guru’ in our lives. They also emphasised the influence of teachers in moulding the lives of young ones. The event left the teachers emotional, who thoroughly enjoyed the programme.

The programme ended with the principal’s speech highlighting how teachers are a beacon of hope in the dark and have an immense and undying love for students in their hearts which is their motivating force.

At Apeejay International School, Greater Noida, students from Nursery to XII participated in the Teachers’ Day celebration with much excitement. It was organised by senior students who beautifully decorated the school with flowers and festoons.  

Dr Sarita Pande, principal, Apeejay International School, inaugurated the programme by garlanding a portrait of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and lit the ceremonial lamp. She addressed the audience and spoke about the significance of Teachers’ Day. The teachers were welcomed with great honour and titles were given to each of them.

The students performed various cultural activities like dance, song, recitation, drama, etc. A student of class XII also delivered a beautiful speech, reflecting on the value of teachers in their life. All the teachers, along with the principal, appreciated the performances of the students.

Later, the teachers enjoyed some fun activities and a scrumptious lunch in the school.

On this special occasion, Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Co-promoter and President, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, sent a special gift for all teachers—a book on emotional and mental wellness called “Hinge” by Vandana Kohli, along with a thank you note on email. In her note, she emphasised how “the role of teachers in shaping an educational institution is paramount”. Furthermore, she thanked the teachers for walking hand-in-hand with the approach and nuances of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
