The Central University Entrance Test (CUET) 2023 declared the results on July 15. Henceforth, there has been a scamper by applicants to apply for various courses across the country – private and government colleges/universities. Most students are looking for scholarships when it comes to studying at private colleges.
The advantage of studying at Apeejay Stya University, Sohna in Gurugram is a social commitment by Apeejay Stya & Svran Group. It is offering a Foundation Years Scholarship on the standard tuition fee for all its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The Scholarship is in commemoration of the foundation years of the Apeejay Stya University (ASU) – starting from 2010 (the year of its establishment) to 2018 (the year when the Apeejay Education Society completes 50 years of its legacy of educational excellence in the country).
The scholarship amount ranges from Rs 65,000-Rs 2.4 lakh per annum, based on the scholastic and co-scholastic credentials/achievements of each eligible student. ASU understands that pursuing quality education can be expensive. Therefore, financial constraints should not make it impossible for meritorious students to study here.
Those seeking admissions at the university can seek the help of admission counsellors who can assist the students in exploring a variety of options suited to the individual’s circumstances and financial needs.
Here are some options for applicant to explore
Dr Stya Paul Memorial Scholarship
In remembrance of Dr Stya Paul, the great visionary, philanthropist and freedom-fighter, ASU offers the Dr Stya Paul Memorial Scholarship. Under this prestigious scholarship, the university offers 100 best scholastic achievers of the country the opportunity to pursue their studies and achieve their dreams at ASU. These meritorious students are given 90 per cent scholarship on the tuition fee on all bachelor programmes. They only have to contribute Rs 20,000 per year on the tuition fee for each year of their course.
Eligibility
All students who have appeared for their 10+2 exams at the Central Board of Secondary education (or equivalent Board recognised by ASU) and have secured 93 per cent and above aggregate.
How to apply?
Fill up the scholarship application form along with the regular university application form. Both these forms can be filled online on the university’s website (https://university.apeejay.edu/), or obtained from the university, or admissions offices.
Merit Scholarships
There are several scholarships and financial aid programmes on merit-cum-means basis to students. These are available to students who have achieved certain minimum performance standards in competitive examinations (or qualifying examinations) or to students who are genuinely unable to meet their higher education expenses. The admission committee and financial aid committee evaluates each candidate on a case-by-case basis.
Financial aid is available on a merit-cum means basis. Those who wish to apply for financial aid must fill the requisite application along with the admission form. Financial aid is also discussed with the student during the admission process. The university coordinates with banking institutes to provide lower interest loans.
Grants and Fellowships
Students applying for Masters and Doctoral programmes are eligible for a number of research grants and teaching fellowships. These include teaching courses to acting as faculty and research assistants in on-going projects and academic programmes.
Loans
Bank loans can be made available to the students on merit basis. However, the following documents will be required: Income proof, admission proof, asset/liabilities details, and certificate for ASU.
Besides these options, ASU also offers Special CUET Scholarships. These vary from course chosen to the percentile that a student may have scored in the CUET.
For instance, the fee for BTech BioScience for one year is Rs 2.6 lakh. But if a student has scored between 90.1 and 99.9 percentile, the net ASU tuition fee after scholarship will be Rs 1.18 lakh for academic session 2023-24. Similarly, for BDesign, the total fee is Rs 2.6 lakh. But if the applicant has scored more than 90.1 percentile in CUET, the net tuition fee after scholarship becomes Rs 1.48 lakh for the academic session 2023-24. The additional charges remain the same for all programmes for all UG courses.
