Apeejay School International (ASI), South Delhi, recently celebrated its Annual Sports Meet with great enthusiasm and cheer. It provided young students with an opportunity to hone and showcase their athletic skills.

The school organised various interesting events on track and field for students to compete in the presence of parents and other dignitaries who attended the event. The event was inaugurated by the school principal, Purshottam Dutt Vashisht.

While addressing the gathering, he spoke about Apeejay’s mission to instill holistic education in students. His inspiring words were followed by the student body pledging their commitment to the school in an oath administered by Artharv Rao, a student and sports captain of the school.

The day-long programme was divided into two parts. In the first half, students put up spectacular performances including a presentation by the music band, a pom-pom drill, a power-packed Taekwondo demonstration, a hula hoop drill, and a yoga presentation by the students.

In the second half, Primary Year Programme (PYP), Middle Year Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP) students participated in activities like Funathon, sprint and sprint-building races. Parents and teachers also participated in fun activities like sprint and lemon-on-spoon races.

A prize distribution ceremony was held at the end of the event where students were awarded for their achievements. The sports captain proposed a formal vote of thanks and congratulated all students for having lived up to the school’s motto “Soaring High is My Nature”.

At ASI, the curriculum focuses on all three areas of human potential, i.e. cognitive, affective and psycho-motor, thus providing truly holistic education to our students. Sports Day 2023 was a celebration of skills students have been developing in the area of sports and games. It was a spectacular display of teamwork and athletic prowess.
