Students of this school learn how to prevent cybercrime

In an age where technology dominates every aspect of our lives, educating young minds about the risks of the digital world has become imperative. Keeping this in mind, Apeejay School, Model Town, organised an Awareness Session on Cybercrime on January 23, 2024. This highly engaging and insightful session was aimed at equipping students with the knowledge and tools to navigate the virtual world responsibly and safely. 

The event featured two distinguished speakers: Mr Raghubir Singh, Sub-inspector at Punjab Saanjh Kendra, and Mr Raj Kumar Saqi, a renowned media and social activist. The team was also accompanied by Mrs Baljinder Kaur, Sub-police Inspector. Together, they provided a comprehensive understanding of the legal, ethical, and social aspects of cybercrime, making it an enlightening experience for all attendees.

Mr Singh began by addressing the legal implications of cybercrime. He highlighted practical measures to avoid falling prey to online fraud, phishing, and other cyber threats. Sharing valuable advice, he urged students to avoid misusing social media platforms or getting influenced by harmful online behaviour, as this could lead to severe consequences. 

In addition to cyber safety, Mr Singh also touched upon traffic rules and the dangers of negative addictions that can harm young lives. His message resonated deeply, emphasising how discipline and awareness can protect students both online and offline. 

Mr Saqi focused on the concept of digital responsibility. He shed light on the hidden risks of the internet and encouraged students to stay informed and vigilant. His engaging talk emphasised the importance of thinking critically before sharing personal information online and staying cautious of misleading content.
