New academic sessions are always exciting as they bring fresh opportunities for learning, meeting new peers, exploring diverse subjects, and embarking on a journey of personal and intellectual growth.

Thus marking the beginning of the new academic session 2023-24, Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA) in Jalandhar organised a hawan ceremony. The students came with great enthusiasm on the first day of the college and attended the auspicious ceremony, along with Dr Neerja Dhingra, Principal at ACFA and the faculty members of the college. They all sought blessings of the divine power to have a fruitful and productive year ahead.

Dr Dhingra warmly welcomed the students and wished them luck and inspired them to work hard, learn new things and have the best of the time in the college. She said, “Here, at Apeejay, we have the best faculty members who are experts in their subjects and fields and who are always ready to help their students in every possible manner.” She also familiarised the students with various student bodies like SWA, NSS, NCC, IT Forum, MAC Forum, etc., which have been formed in college for the all-round development of young learners.

Expressing her happiness, Dr. Dhingra also shared with the students that last year Apeejay students made the college proud by bagging 150 top positions in the University; out of which 46 students secured first position, and she hopes that this year too students will work hard and make the college proud by attaining the top positions in the University exam.

On this occasion, Dr. Vivek Verma from the Department of Music sang bhajan along with Dr. Sumit Singh on sitar and Ms Lovepreet Kaur conducted the stage. Dr. Neerja Dhingra appreciated the efforts of Dr. Amita Mishra (programme-in charge) and Dr. Monika Anand (Dean, Functions) for the success of this programme.

Further, Dr. Monika Anand, Head of Home Science Department at ACFA said, “We at ACFA are always striving for excellence in all we do, and that has been the prime focus. With a positive sentiment to drive our concerted efforts towards a great start, we invoke the blessings of the Almighty. ACFA follows a regular practice of organising Hawan ceremony at the beginning of the session with a promise to provide our students the best education while helping them to achieve greater heights.”
