Apeejay School, Faridabad, held its most-awaited annual carnival ‘Meraki’ this month, bringing cheer to the students as they immersed themselves in a cultural and creative bonanza.

The joyous occasion was graced by Mr Narendra Gupta, MLA, Faridabad, and executive director at Prayas Social Welfare Society, as the chief guest. Inspector Neha Rathi, an international wrestler, and recipient of the prestigious Arjuna Award, was the guest of honour. Among the other important dignitaries were Mrs Anita Paul, education officer, Apeejay Education Society, and Mrs Ritu Kohli.

The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and an invocation by the senior students. Mrs Anita Yadav, principal, Apeejay School Faridabad, gave the welcome address.

The chief guest thanked Apeejay’s founder chairman, late Dr Stya Paul, in his speech, highlighting his efforts in building such an esteemed educational institution. He further emphasised how the carnival was a positive step towards fostering children’s holistic development.

Inspector Neha Rathi went on to talk about the importance of physical activity and how it should be incorporated into every student’s life.

The guests officially inaugurated the carnival by releasing colourful balloons.

‘Meraki’ had an array of scintillating activities and performances, from music to dance, games, pageantry, and more. A total of 29 stalls were set up to offer numerous games and edible delights to the attendees. They were also given exciting prizes.

On the sidelines, children and parents enjoyed participating in activities like “My Fantasy Character”, “Baby Show”, “Obstacle Path”, and “Drawing and Painting Corner”, to name a few.

Students from several schools also participated in an inter-school folk dance competition and folk fusion band competition.

The carnival turned out to be a grand success with a footfall of more than three thousand visitors who thoroughly enjoyed the event. ‘Meraki’ concluded with a formal vote of thanks to express gratitude to Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, president, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, and the Apeejay family including students and parents.

“Our annual carnival was a platform that provided opportunities for our students to develop their leadership and entrepreneurship skills and hone their creativity. Our parents and staff relived their childhood and enjoyed the beautiful moments with their loved ones as could be seen in the smiles, laughter, positivity, and happiness that marked the vibrant atmosphere of the carnival.”
