Apeejay Model Town champions religious harmony with a universal message of all faiths

Recently, Apeejay School, Model Town, hosted a heartwarming and meaningful session on the theme Unity in Diversity: Respecting All Beliefs and Religions. The event was conducted by the school’s dedicated counselor, Ms Shilpi, and was attended by students from Grades I to XI in two separate batches — Classes I to VII and Classes VIII to XI.

The aim of the assembly was simple yet powerful — to nurture respect for all faiths among students and help them understand the essence of diverse religions and belief systems. In a world that is becoming increasingly connected, such efforts are vital in sowing the seeds of inclusivity and mutual understanding from a young age.

Instilling values that matter

During the session, Ms Shilpi spoke about the importance of accepting and valuing every religion. She explained that while each religion may have different customs or symbols of faith, they all preach similar values — love, kindness, peace, and humanity. Her words were relatable and touched upon the idea that every individual, regardless of their faith, deserves respect.

To make the discussion engaging and age-appropriate, she adjusted her approach for the different age groups. The younger students were introduced to basic concepts of unity and kindness through interactive dialogue. The senior students were encouraged to reflect on real-life examples of harmony and tolerance in society. This thoughtful presentation ensured that every student could connect with the theme in their way.

Fostering a culture of togetherness

The session was not just about learning facts but also about feeling the essence of unity. Students were encouraged to share their views and experiences. They listened, learned, and understood that unity does not mean similarity, but embracing differences with respect.

The discussion also covered the symbolic elements of religion like places of worship, religious festivals, and traditional practices, and how they serve as expressions of faith, not tools of division. By recognising these symbols, students learned the value of empathy and open-mindedness.

Building a strong foundation for the future

This special assembly added another valuable layer to the school’s effort in character building and value-based education. Ms Shilpi’s session successfully highlighted how respecting all religions can lead to a more peaceful and connected society. Students walked away not only with a better understanding but also with hearts full of appreciation for diversity.

By encouraging young minds to develop mutual respect, Apeejay School, Model Town is truly living up to its commitment to shape responsible and compassionate citizens of tomorrow.
