Students display strength and focus at the Inter-house Yoga Competition

Students of Apeejay School, Noida showcase flexibility, discipline, and mindfulness through an inspiring celebration of yoga

The Inter-house Yoga Competition for students of Apeejay School, Noida, was organised in the school auditorium, providing young learners with an opportunity to demonstrate their physical strength, flexibility, concentration, and discipline through the practice of yoga. The event celebrated yoga as a holistic way of life that nurtures the body, mind, and spirit while promoting overall well-being. 

Students representing Tagore House, Nehru House, Gandhi House, and Radhakrishnan House participated enthusiastically, displaying confidence, grace, and precision in every performance. Their dedication and sincere efforts reflected the values of perseverance, self-control, and inner balance that yoga seeks to cultivate.

Each participant presented a sequence of six yoga asanas, comprising two standing, two sitting, and two lying postures selected from the prescribed list. The performances featured a variety of challenging asanas, including Garudasana, Vrikshasana, Natarajasana, Baddha Padmasana, Eka Pada Sirasana, Garbhasana, Kukkutasana, Kapotasana, Sarvangasana, Halasana, Karnapidasana, and Poorna Bhujangasana. Every performance highlighted the students’ flexibility, balance, body control, and focused breathing, earning appreciation from the audience.

The competition was judged by Ms Savita and Mr Shiv, who commended the participants for their enthusiasm, discipline, and remarkable execution of the postures. They encouraged students to make yoga a regular part of their daily routine, emphasising its role in enhancing physical fitness, mental clarity, and emotional resilience.

The winners of the competition were Farisha Khan of Class IV A (Tagore House), who secured the first position, followed by Shanaya Singh of Class IV C (Radhakrishnan House) in second place. The third position was jointly awarded to Advik Gulati of Class IV C (Gandhi House) and Grisha Kansal of Class IV D (Radhakrishnan House).

The event concluded on a high note, with every participant demonstrating commendable sportsmanship and dedication. Beyond recognising individual excellence, the competition reinforced the importance of yoga in developing a healthy lifestyle and inspired students to embrace the ancient practice as a lifelong journey towards physical wellness, mental peace, and holistic growth.
