Student Achiever: ‘I want to innovate and contribute to the tech industry’
This technophile from Apeejay School, Noida feels like his knowledge got refined after attending the CODE event
Tell us about the recent CODE competition you participated in.
I recently participated in the event Dexterity, held at Ahlcon Public School, Delhi. The event presented an open prompt, where we primarily worked with Python and SQL for database management. My partner, Vipul Mittal, who also served as a mentor throughout the event, and I dedicated a lot of effort to developing a chatbot that helps students select colleges based on the inputs they provide.
How was the experience?
The event was an incredibly enriching experience. I not only honed my coding skills but also learnt how to effectively pitch a product. The competition was inspiring, and interacting with fellow participants gave me valuable insights and new ideas. Overall, it was a great opportunity for growth in both technical and presentation skills.
What was the most challenging part of the competition?
The most challenging part of the competition was developing a website that was both secure and able to fetch real-time, up-to-date data consistently. Ensuring data accuracy and freshness while maintaining robust security measures for students’ personal information was a significant hurdle. On top of that, integrating Python, JavaScript, and SQL to create a seamless connection between the front-end and back-end required careful planning and attention to detail. Balancing all these technical aspects while also meeting the project requirements was the most challenging, but ultimately the most rewarding part of the experience.
How did Apeejay School support you in this?
Apeejay School provided incredible support throughout the entire experience, from arranging transportation to ensuring my participation in such a prestigious event. Without the backing of my school and the guidance of my teacher, this achievement would not have been possible. Their constant encouragement and support were instrumental in making this experience a reality.
What’s your ambition?
My ambitions are to excel both academically and professionally. As a Science student, I am committed to strengthening my academic foundation and developing my skills in my chosen field. I aim to make my school proud by achieving excellence in my studies. Alongside my academic goals, I am passionate about technology and aspire to participate in more hackathons, honing my coding and problem-solving abilities, intending to win them.
How important is technology in today’s scenario?
Technology today drives innovation, improves efficiency, and connects people globally. Advancements in AI, data science, and automation are transforming industries and creating new opportunities. As the world becomes more interconnected, technology is key to solving global challenges and shaping a sustainable future.
