States to decide if parents’ consent necessary: Centre’s school reopening guidelines

According to the new guidelines issued by the Ministry of education, state governments can take a decision on whether schools are required to consent of the parents for students to attend physical classes. With Covid cases declining, states have started reopening schools and colleges for physical classes. “We share these guidelines, which are advisory in nature, and states are free to make their own guidelines accordingly. These guidelines contain all SoP for attending classes. Students can opt for online education,” said the Education Ministry. As of now, 98.85% of teaching staff and 99.07% of non-teaching staff have been vaccinated in the Central institutions.
