Apeejay School, Noida holds investiture ceremony. Adorned with badges of honour, students strive to prove themselves
The investiture ceremony holds a significant place in the calendar of any school. It is not just an occasion to recognise and felicitate the young, emerging leaders of tomorrow but also to provide them with an opportunity to know themselves better.
Apeejay School, Noida has always believed in inculcating and fostering a sense of responsibility and commitment among its students. In keeping with this ethos, the school organised the investiture ceremony for the middle and senior departments recently. Members of the prefectorial board and the student council were appointed after a rigorous process of nominations and interviews and had to prove themselves at every stage of the selection process.
Lt General RKS Kushwaha, PVSM, AVSM (retd) graced the occasion as the chief guest. The armed forces veteran has 40 years of experience and expertise of delivering exceptional results in operations, logistics and administration in Army Ordnance Corps. His illustrious years of army service includes serving in counter insurgency operations in J&K valley, delegating UN Peacekeeping Mission in Angola and presiding over numerous other assignments.
The programme commenced with Principal, Ms Ritu Kohli formally addressing the gathering and according a green welcome to the distinguished chief guest. She also cordially welcomed all parents and students in the audience.
The ceremony began with the introduction of the members of the Prefectorial Board. The baton of responsibility was passed on to head girl Ananya Jha and head boy Aditya Singh Deo for the senior wing and to head girl Chhavi Verma and head boy Shaunish Singh Sawhney for the middle wing. Senior prefects, house prefects and editors were also invested with authority and badges.
The distinguished chief guest administered the oath of office to the newly inducted members of the prefectorial board. The leaders pledged to preserve, protect and defend the rules and regulations of the school and uphold its dignity and honour with their actions. The chief guest shared inspiring anecdotes from his own school days as a school prefect and urged the office bearers to embrace their duties with the focus of always choosing right over wrong in all their endeavours.
The newly inducted head boy and head girl further acquainted the audience with their resolve to take their alma mater towards higher echelons. They pledged to guide their peers, lead by example and vowed to fulfill every responsibility vested on them and uphold the values and beliefs of the school.
The school dance troupe paid a homage to the valiant heroes of India with a mesmerising performance. The ceremony ended on a humble note with the school song enthusing the students with a sense of pride for being a part of a great institution where the head is always held high.
